THE FULL COURSE
A sequence of 10 mentoring sessions, taking your from your first idea to final manuscript. Early sessions will probably discuss ideas and plot outlines, later tutorials will involve reading up to 20,000 words of your novel in progress and feedback to keep you going.
BOUNCING OFF YOUR MA 15,000 WORDS
You’ve got the opening but now you need to push on and make it work as a complete novel. We suggest a sequence of monthly mentoring but with a flexible reading limit: never less than 10,000 words but sometimes more, and towards the end, a reading of a complete First Draft.
YOU’VE GOT A FIRST DRAFT
and you know it needs a second. We will read your draft and then spend a long feedback session setting you up for the second draft.

What happens in a mentoring session?
We strongly believe in discussing your novel with you one-to-one. So whether by phone or in person (in London), we consider this a crucial part of the process. This gives you the chance to discuss, to debate possible ways forward, to challenge our response, and to feel all your questions have been answered. At the end of each session, we want to leave you ready for the next month’s work, ready and confident to take the next step towards finishing your novel.
But that’s not all.
You will also be given a Session Report, summing up the mentor's thoughts and giving you examples of what we might have been talking about.
